I got a carbon steel grill that was lighter than my Lodge grills. I do much prefer my Lodge grills in terms of non-stick, and the heavy weight also means that when I have to scrape something off the pan, it doesn’t budge. However, when I want to move the Lodge grill or pour off juices or fats, it’s too heavy and thus unwieldy. This carbon steel grill is light enough that I can pour off whatever accumulates without too much trouble, so that’s why I give it five stars, because it does what I wanted it to do.I’ve tried seasoning it, by putting it in the oven, by burning it over the stove at high heat, and just by cooking, but it’s still not as non-stick as my Lodge grill, which I’ve been lazy about seasoning (which is not as non-stick as my Butter Pat pans, which I’ve also been lazy about seasoning). The advantage of this over a non-stick pan is that I can brutally scrape off the encrusted bits at the end, which you can’t do with a non-stick pan, if you want to keep the coating.I also really like that there are no rivets to get food stuck into. The pan is just a bit smaller than the size of two burners, but it’s not a deal breaker.Made in America. So buy it already. Most like the quality of the product. It wasn't clear from the posting as to the actual cooking surface of this grill. But when it arrived and I realized it was rather small, it then became clear that the dimensions include the flared edges of the grill. The actual flat part of the grill is about 2" less in the length and width and is just too small for my purposes. I had hoped to be able to fit at least 6 pancakes on this, but it's only big enough for 3. I can fit that many in a plain old frying pan. The pan is rather nice, however. It seemed quite flat and I think it would work well on an induction range. The built-in handles make it low-profile so that it would fit nicely in a vertical storage situation in a cabinet. I just wish it had been a bit bigger. Drats!Thank you Rocky Mountain! A perfect sized griddle for the Weber 1000 series. All other griddles, like Weber's, are too small, while others are too large...just right mama bear. It allows cooking for two--breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, other griddles for the Weber have coatings or are very rough cast iron and food sticks. After proper seasoning, food does not stick to this substantial steel griddle.I had tried some of the larger griddles before so I knew this one would have the same quality and capabilities. Once seasoned properly, it becomes non-stick for most cooking situations. Easy to clean and store as it is smaller than my others. I use it to cook Japanese steak house style meals and it is perfect for that.Easy to season. Perfect portable size. The lip stops grease from spilling over. I use mine to make breakfast on the boat using the Weber Go Anywhere propane grill.yes I like my griddleWorks with induction stove top that has two "burners" that can be connected together. You must have to season the absolute sh*t out of it to make it work well. I'm no stranger to seasoning cooking surfaces and this one I still havent been able to get useable. Will keep trying.
