I love this grate and I wish that I had thought to buy it long ago. First off, it's really heavy - way heavier than the grate that came with my grill. It feels extremely solid, and it is. I also love that the center piece lifts out!I use a charcoal chimney to get my coals going, then dump them out and spread them slightly under the edge part of the grate. I then place the center piece in, and let everything come to temperature. This grate has been fantastic about evenly heating as it retains heat well across the device. I've had way better success getting a more consistent cook on everything from shrimp and chicken to filet and ribeyes. The cast iron allows you to get a fantastic sear, and there's enough surface area that I am able to move the meat (or veggies!) off of the direct heat to finish the cooking.I would highly recommend this grate.Bought this for my Weber kettle. Perfect fit and great for using a vortex because the center removes. Would buy again but I don’t think I will have to because this is going to last a long time.Very heavy and looks great, the stainless steel has the appearance of chrome plating, however I checked with a magnet and it's not plated carbon steel. Fits the weber perfect, very pleased, time will till if the welds hold, I don't know anything else that could go wrong.I ordered a stainless steel model and it looked like chrome plated steel. I contacted them and they tell me I got the right one. I am returning due to the fact of it not looking like stainless and don’t want to take a chance at the price. The Weber sear grate did not fit 100% either. It just rest in the spot and does not drop in like the Weber. Quality appeared to be reasonableThis should be included with the unit. I would recommend it highly. Once it's seasoned it cleans easier. It's heavy but good quality.I really liked the functionality of this product. Everything was going well until I tried to cook on the middle grate. It cracked the very first time using it.As good as the Weber and better valueNot only did I like this one I have bought Two More! I Grill on it at least twice a week.Heavy heavy heavy. This is heavy iron. Came well packaged. (however i could see were if you drop this off say a ups truck from 5 feet the thing might crack or break even with the decent packaging.)Fits great in webber original 22.5 in. kettleNOT porcelain coated so I can use my wire brush or anything to clean. Don't want no porcelain on my grate!I have Original webber kettles. Two of them. one at home one at my ranch.After my first use I bought two more. Gave one to a friend and he is raving about it.I use mesquite wood (burns dang hot dont you know) and have had no issues.I expect unless i drop it on concrete this will outlast the actual Webber!Did I mention its heavy? Get old grill tongues and some hot pads or grilling gloves to remove the middle piece to work your fire! oh and its iron so hold heat so watch were you set the middle piece could burn something!
