After the last unit unfortunately had a short circuit, I searched through the options available and found this one to be the best suited for the job. It is robust, stylish, and very practical for my wife to have some nice toasted Panini‘s, or good sear-marked steaks. Highly recommended.Quick and easy for sandwiches, bacon, chicken, fish and even veggies. I love it and recommend it.This was just what we were looking for! Handle was crushed. This was a gift. It was mailed to Kansas from me here in Mississippi. So the scan code would not work for the return. She had no choice but to keep it.I don't do this very often but I thought I'd better give a heads up beware be careful and observant of the base of this unit it is just solid plastic no rubber grippers and if you're not very careful you can bump this and slide it across the counter and into the floor full of grease hot grease so take it very very slow movements around this unless you do what I did and cut some small rubber hose and put on the bottom corners if you do that it's golden no more slipping or or easily moving rubber Automotive grade vacuum tube works great I used plastic glue and hot glue gun combination to adhere we'll see how long it lastsI just received this griddle to day (March 6-21). I haven't had a chance to use it but once I do, I will be back to give my personal opinion about this piece of appliance.UPDATE: I actually like this griddle. It works well for a small family of 2-4 ppl. IF u have a LARGE family, u will want to buy a bigger griddle to make a complete meal at once. I made 3 grilled cheese sandwiches on it and barely had enough room to make them. My family size is 4. I recommend this item for small families, not suitable for large families.The grill has a smaller surface area than other models, but the heat distribution is even and very good. I had another grill which had uneven temperature on its surface. I did contact the company and received a quick reply to my question. The temperature guide on the power cord lists temperatures as 1,2,3,4, and 5. The instruction guide lists cooking temperatures in Fahrenheit, this is confusing. Icucina's reply to me was this: 1 is 240F, 2 is 290F, 3 is 350F,4 is 400F and 5 is 455F. Hope this helps someone else.
