I got this as a gift for my husband and it exceeded expectations! It’s very large and feeds all of us when we go camping and makes those one pot meals a breeze. I hate cleaning cast iron but it’s certainly no worse than any other.I have used many dutch ovens before. This one has a lid that is way undersized. You can actually slide the lid to the side enough to see inside the pot. This can let ashes fall inside unless you make an effort to precisely center the lid each time you recover the pot. Also because the lid is under the diameter of the pot, ashes will get on the top edge of the pot when you are adding coals to the lid, regardless if the lid is manually centered or not. The oven is usable despite this crappy design error. You have to make unnecessary effort to sweep the pot rim before removing the lid, and be sure you center it when replacing because it’s too darn small! The legs on the lid and both the pot are a plus, and the reason why I chose this brand so I wouldn’t have to employ extra stands or trivets when cooking. Shame they couldn’t design e better fitting lid.…still means cheap, unreliable goods. I should have bought American.Mixed pieces. The top and the bottom are from different sets. This lid does not fit properly. It moves around So a proper shield can’t be made.The top has a vent indentation where as the bottom does not. If the top and the bottom where the from the same pot that would be an indentation in both top and bottom preventing for like when you wanted to cook a cake and the lid would fit tightly not slide around.Excellent! Thank you!!!The cover has some weight and the pan but in my opinion is not that bad ! A little heavy ! But it seem’s durable “ looks good to hunker down in an STF situation with your rocket stove !
