Yes, I was also wondering whether or not this pan is cast iron because the surface does not look like it needs seasoning. The seller/manufacturer should have given a description that would clarify that. But I still belive it is a cast iron with black enamel top. We are not used seeing black enamel, it seems that is what it is, it is heavy as cast iron with black enamel so we do not have to season it. I still give it the five stars, seasoned or enameled, it makes great pizza. Just use a little bit of either a cooking oil or a conditioner designed for cast iron before baking /cooking and after washing to put it away, cover with a blue paper towel mechanics use since it does not leave the lint and also protects the surface at the same time while not in use.
