This was an exact replacement for my charcoal grill. Hopefully it will last longer than the original.I purchased a grill for my barbeque pot. Works greatIt works good. It's the right size but they paint it. And of course it pills off for the first few times you use it. It makes you worry if you're getting some kind of toxins in your food. They last about two or three years, plan on buying a new one after that. Next time I won't get a painted one.​I installed this kit in a Char-Griller model 3001, with the following results. Over all things worked well. It has screws and nuts only for the new brackets not for other components where you might want to change the screw (which are usually pretty cruddy). I didn't understand what the short wire versus long wire thing was, but it had to do with the ignition system. It does not come with new igniters so they must be easily removed from the old burners and reattached to the new ones. You'll need to take the front panel with the dials off to get to the front brackets. The brackets are very important to replace as they were all burnt out and corroded. The most difficult part was the fact that the back end of the burner did not align with the hole in the new bracket. Without taking the brackets off, I tried to drill new holes that were closer to the edge that would fit the large hole in the burner, but I could not accomplish this. So I took longer screws that I had so that they would reach from the burner hole and screw into the small hole in the new bracket. These do not fit very well and the end of the burner is somewhat loose, but at least fastened down to not come off. A shoddy job on my part. It also came with washers which I didn't really pay attention to until after I got the three front brackets put on. So the back brackets have washers on both sides of the screw. The better solution would have been to put the washer on the nut side for front and back brackets, but I didn't want to take the front brackets off again. For the price, the value is very good. You will definitely want to change brackets.it fit perfectly for me to change a gas grill to a charcoal one it holds a lot of charcoal for you to have a big family gatheringI got this for my husband to place as an ash tray in his bigger grill, it serves the exact purpose he needed it for.This product arrived as specified. However, upon first use the paint started peeling off and creating a bad smell. Not great for bbqing. Use with caution. After a few uses it is fine now, but paint fumes on my steak was not appreciated.It’s not as heavy duty as the original. It is also not as deep as the original. It is average.
