Tip for Using the Griddle HOW TO CLEAN MY GRIDDLE? FIRST TIME: For first time use, wash the griddle in hot, soapy water. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME YOU SHOULD USE SOAP ON THE GRIDDLE. Rinse and dry completely with paper towels. AFTER EACH USE: After cooking is complete, use a stainless steel scraper to scrape food residue while the griddle is warm. You can pour in 1/4 cup of water to soften food scraps, then use a high-temperature grill scrubber to clean the surface.(Please be careful of steam burns during this process).If the griddle has cooled, pour in warm water, or heat the griddle after pouring water to soften food residue before cleaning.After cleaning, store your griddle in a cool, dry place to prevent rusting. WHAT HAPPENS IF I WARP MY GRIDDLE? In nearly all cases, a small amount of "curve" is normal but it shouldn't be enough to rock on the grill, once the griddle fully cools it will return to normal. If the uneven heating warped your griddle, normally, turning all of the burners on to medium low to let the entire grddle heat to around 400℉ for 15-20 minutes will undo any damage. Once it cools it should return to flat. HOW TO AVOID WARPING? Recommended to preheat the griddle: Starting with your stove set to low heat and gradually increasing the heat until you get to your target temp. Extreme temperature changes will cause warping, avoid using large quantities of frozen food on a hot griddle, using just one or two burners to heat your griddle may cause it to warp or buckle. Avoid high power burners concentrated in a small area to burn. For example, you wouldn't want have one side of the griddle heated to 500 degrees for searing a steak while leaving the opposite side at 200 degrees. We do not recommend using pots larger than 1 quart to heat water directly on the griddle.
